  • Timisoara is also called “the little Vienna”. The name is right because has it many similarities with this beautiful European city. The main reason why it was called like this is that many buildings and squares were built more than 100 years ago, in its glorious days, when Timisoara was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Many artistic elements can be seen on each building, starting with roman arcades, baroque elements, flamboyant or classical, floral and animal elements, modern or art-nouveau style.
